When we talk to people about what we are doing, there are two questions that get asked more than any other. Here are the answers so you don't have to ask, too!
1. "What about Ebola?" Ebola is a horrible disease, yes. But, ebola does not change our decision or our calling. Plus, ebola is not an immediate threat anywhere near Zambia. We will be dealing with other horrible diseases: malaria, malnutrition, HIV and AIDs to name a few. These diseases pose a much greater threat to us and those we are going to help medically.
2. When are you going? Good question! Andy has a medical training course in March, and we would like to leave as soon as possible after that. Our leaving is solely and completely dependent on our month financial support. We have to reach 80% of our estimated needs for 3 months before our sending organization will allow us to purchase plane tickets. As of November, we are at about 26% of that need. Our getting there is subject to the response of God's people to meeting the need of the orphans and widows in Kitwe. We want to leave as soon as we are able!
